Iasi City Hall, the promoter of this project is focused on developing sustainable partnerships based on trust and responsibility already during the development of the ” History of minorities – an artistic approach to cultural diversity”. Choosing the partnerships was effective and strategic, due to the working areas of these partnerships witch are consistent with the objectives set by the project.
Following a model tested in the West, where higher education institutions are strong and internationally competitive research centers, scientific research has become a strategic development at the University “Alexandru Ioan Cuza”, which collaborates on the line with 265 universities in the world. A major component of the “History of minorities – an artistic approach to cultural diversity” is the historical research that contribute to achieve the documentation of cultural history by reconstructing the historical contribution of ethnic and religious genesis and evolution of Iaşi. The historical research of minorities is coordinated by “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University, who has his own representing in the project management team, the results will be presented in six thematic conferences under the title “Iasi – city of cultural diversity”. As a result of the historical research, a historical monograph of minorities in Iaşi will be published, the edition will be printed in 250 copies and also there will be held an exhibition at the Museum “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” regarding urban memory recovery and the coexistence of the most important historical communities of Iasi.
“Pro Roma” Association from Iasi, through its representative in the project management team will coordinate with the promoter of this project, the preparation and organization of the festival “Diversity Week in Iasi” and it will be the glue that will ensure effective communication with representants of the cultural communities and minorities invited to attend the events. “Pro Roma” Association will provide a theater show made by and with the Roma minority, also will be involved in the publishing of a cookbook, in the photo exhibition, and will attend with poetry and dance performances at the traditional costumes parade. As a non-governmental organization, the association “Pro Rome” is campaigning to promote moral values, respect for fundamental rights and freedoms of Roma minorities, the economic, social and cultural rights of Roma. The founding members of the organization are Roma and non-Roma activists with experience in development and implementation of projects/programs for Roma communities in the development and implementation of information and awareness campaigns addressed to the members of Roma communities. The Association aims to reduce educational and socio-economic disparities between Roma and non-Roma population.
