Integrating ethnic groups from Iasi in the majority community is not necessarily assimilation, it’s rather a perpetual and dynamic process adaptation. The customs, traditions, art and culture that we have inherited or we borrowed from Armenian, Ukrainian, Hebrew, Greek, Russian or Roma Lippovan, we often perceive them as if they were our own.
The “History of minorities – an artistic approach to cultural diversity”, initiated by the Municipality of Iaşi in partnership with the University “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” and the Foundation “ProRoma” aims to find out the unwritten stories behind the communities, to enable wide public access to their culture and enhance cultural dialogue through understanding cultural diversity and minority contribution to the genesis of Iaşi.
